Billie Joyce Potter is the daughter of Ida Fuller Potter and Coy Johnson. Billie was born in Letcher Co Ky.
She married 1st to Bill Stewart, 2nd to Jesse Phillip Sanchez and 3rd to Charles Jaynes of South Houston, TX.
Billie adopted the 3 youngest children of her
Mom, Ida Fuller Potter. Those adopted by her are
Annette,
Carlene and
David Potter.
Billie was also born in Letcher Co KY and like the rest of us came to Houston, Texas to earn a living that couldn't be had in Kentucky.
Billie has been in several countries during her lifetime. She has lived in Spain, Guatemala City, Central America to name a few.
Billie also lived in different states with her 2nd husband, Jesse Sanchez. Jesse was in the Airforce and they traveled a lot and lived
in several different states. Some of the states in which she lived include Illinois, and Alaska.
Billie is currently married to Charles Jaynes. They have been married for about 30 years. Billie worked for Montgomery Wards in sales.
She retired from Wards and she and her husband Charles bought a business.
She and Charles Jaynes own and maintain rental property in the
South Houston, Texas area.
Charley Jaynes is a retired machinist. Charley and Billie have no children together, but Charley has 2 boys and 2 girls
from a previous marriage. Billie had no children with any of her husbands.
We (Billie, me (Annette), Carlene and David) had a great time in all the different places
we lived. Carlene and I (Annette) really
loved Guatemala in particular. We had a wonderful time attending the American School of Guatemala.
The countryside of Guatemala City
was the loveliest I've (Annette Potter) ever experienced. When we lived in Guatemala, we frequently saw beautiful multi-colored birds
in the trees.
The field trips we went on were quite the experience because of the beauty of the
surrounding area. Guatemala offered for our pleasure beautiful waterfalls, lovely lakes and lush tropical forests. We hope to
make a return visit to Guatemala some day.
My sister Carlene and I (Annette) modeled on television and for layouts in various publications
while living in Guatemala. Our social life was very exciting and
enjoyable. The boys there would get together and bring guitars to serenade us at our home. We loved that!!
I would hope that girls in the states would have their boyfriends treat them to
this wonderful tradition. It is something a girl will always remember and it
makes them feel very special. We were very fortunate to have experienced all the wonderful things we enjoyed in the beautiful
city of Guatemala in Central America.
