Fred Lee Webb Potter was born 15 November 1918 and died October 23 1988. Fred is son of Creed Flannery Potter and Sarah Rose Robinson Potter. (Fred is buried in the Reynolds Family Cemetery as Fred Lee Potter, son of Creed and Sarah Potter).

Fred married Ruby Potter. Fred was a Law Enforcement Officer in Kentucky for many years.

When my sister and I were little kids, would come to the house to visit. Fred was a big strong man with a huge booming voice and he got a big kick out of scaring us girls.

Once when he stayed overnight, he slept on a cot in the downstairs living room of our row house in McRoberts. All the row houses in coal towns had fire places and we kept a fire burning in the winter and fall to keep warm.

Fred snored like a big old bear and his snore was so loud, it shook the house around us. That night, my sister and I sneaked down to see what was growling and there was Fred on his cot in front of the fireplace snoring very loud.

We watched in awe as his stomach would rise up like a mountain every time he snored and as he slept, the fire in the hearth cast scary shadows around the room.

I don't recall how we got back to sleep that night. I do remember that all of us kids loved to be scared out of our wits and we thoroughly enjoyed ghost stories and tales which we shared amongst ourselves as often as we could.

Fred Lee Potter is buried as Fred Potter in the Reynolds Family Cemetery, Seco, Letcher Co KY near our Dad and Dad's 1st wife, Sarah Rose Robinson. Fred married Ruby Potter and they had one daughter, Marie Potter.

Fred Lee Potter was quite a bit older than my sister, Carlene Potter Burkland and me, Annette Potter. He was very close to our Mom's age. He was already grown and had already moved to another state when we were born.

Fed and Ruby Potter also have a son, but unfortunately, at this moment, because we have seen so little of this family, I cannot recall his name, but will add it as soon as possible.

We would love to hear from Fred's family to update our website with their info, so if any of Fred's family happens by, please let us know names and such so we can add them here.
