the command of Colonel. Benjamin Everage Caudill, the son of John Adams CAUDILL
and Rachel CORNETT. He and 119 others were captured at the Battle of Gladeville,
VA, July 7, 1863.
According to Colonel Caudill's diary, the enlisted men
captured at Gladeville were taken to Camp Chase near Columbus, Ohio, then to
Camp Douglas near Chicago, Illinois. Larkin was not heard from again after
