While living and working in Houston, TX, Joel Martin Potter met and married Judy Burkland, the daughter of Carl Roland Clifford Burkland and Marjorie Lorraine Willhite. 

Mart (aka Marty) Potter spent most of his adult life after the air force working at the Houston Ship Channel. He is now retired and pursuing fishing with a great deal of enthusiasm. Mart has always been an avid fisherman and goes fishing as often as possible. (Mart prefers the name Mart which he was called by his peers in school, but his family has always called him Marty)

Mart has taken every one of us fishing and each time we go, we are not disappointed because we always have a great catch. Mart knows all the good fishing places in the area.

Mart Potter has helped with our genealogy a great deal. A huge amount of our accumulated records are accredited to Mart's hard work. The most recent thing he did was to make a trip to Kentucky and tape record our brother Archie Potter's oral history.

While Mart was in Kentucky, he also photographed many of our ancestor's grave stones. That alone is priceless. A very very special thank you goes out to our brother, Joel Martin Mart Potter for all his hard work.

Memorial For Marty From Pam Meyer and Jim McDonald and Family. Pam is the d/o Jacquie McIntyre Meyer and Bill Meyer. Jacquie is the d/o Minnie Fuller McIntyre and Homer T McIntyre. Minnie was the d/o Leona Smith Fuller and Elijah Green Fuller.

Marty was to give the bride away at Pam's Upcoming Marriage on 3 Sept 2006 to Jim McDonald. We wish Pam and Jim the very best of everything in their life together, and we are very thankful to Pam and everyone who came to Marty's (aka Uncle Cuz's) funeral. Thank all of you very much.

Thanks especially to Jacquie McIntyre Meyer for being one of Marty's best friends and for being there for Marty his whole life, through thick and through thin. Thank you, Jacquie. Marty loved you and Pam and PJ very much.
